Frances Cain-Lofton was born and raised in Abbeville, South Carolina. She spent her undergraduate days at the College of Charleston, proudly representing the Cougar Nation as Captain of the cheerleading squad. Mrs. Lofton graduation from the C of C in 1979 with a B.A. in English. She then attended law school at the University of South Carolina where she received her juris doctorate in 1983. Mrs. Lofton was admitted to the South Carolina Bar that same year.
Following law school, Mrs. Lofton was as an Assistant Solicitor in Charleston County from 1983 to 1984 before joining the Law Offices of Lionel S. Lofton in 1984. She is currently a partner with Lofton & Lofton, P.C., along with her husband, Lionel S. Lofton. Mrs. Lofton practices personal injury with an emphasis on automobile and tractor-trailer collisions. She also serves as a Charleston County Summary Court Judge in McClellanville, South Carolina.
Mrs. Lofton is very active in the community, having served on The Cougar Club Board at the College of Charleston and also the Board of Directors of Palmetto Christian Academy, as well as serving as Chairperson of the Palmetto Christian Academy Booster Club.
